Engagement, creativity, innovation and inspiration.

Mike Byrne graduated from our BA Design Studies degree course in 2004. He worked for several years as a developer in Manchester before moving to New York in October 2011 to see what all the fuss was about. He works for interactive agency Area 17. We caught up with him before Christmas when he was working on a project at Pivotal Labs in Manhattan to see how that New York life was treating him…

1. I’m always surprised at how many people wear sunglasses on the subway. And at all the coats/scarfs. It’s not cold!

2. Ah Union Sq from 14th and Broadway. Good morning (yup, Empire State in the background)

3. Went to the Corner Bistro for lunch (one of the best burgers in Manhattan). Hit and English shop for $5 Jaffa Cakes.

4. My desk here, much like my desks back in the UK. The view out the window is much different…

5. Chunk of work done. Reward? Ping pong for sure:

Well, we’re definitely jealous of the New York lifestyle! If you’re interested in taking part in our 5 a day project then please get in touch.
