A great video documenting a creative technology research project ‘All The World’s A Screen’ by two Salford lecturer’s Paul Sermon and Charlotte Gould…
On the 28th and 29th June May 2011 audiences from Manchester (at Madlab) and Barcelona (Hangar.org, Pobleneu) were joined together for an interactive, generative cinema experience. Pobleneu is known as the Manchester of Catalonia because similar to Manchester it’s fortunes were initially built around the textile industry so not only did the two cities share an industrial past but also on the night of 28th May Barcelona and Manchester United were to meet in the Champion’s League final!
The audience were invited to create their own narrative in response to the sets and props and using the interface of an iphone app the audience in Barcelona could choose one of seven backgrounds which related to the seven ages of man; infancy, childhood, the lover, the worker, justice, pantaloon or the return to second childhood.
